About Us

After serving as the Associate and Executive Pastor of Crossroads Church in Fremont, CA for 23 years, Dwayne felt called to partner with New Heart Church. Dwayne was born in South Carolina and grew up in VA where he received a business degree from the College of William and Mary. After serving 2 years as an associate Christian missionary in South Korea Dwayne sensed God leading him outside of the Bible belt. So, Dwayne moved to Mill Valley, CA to attend Golden Gate Seminary where he earned his master’s degree. His lead gift is shepherding.

Dwayne and his wife Jennifer have 3 sons, one daughter-in-law, and 2 black cats. Dwayne enjoys golf, the 49ers, Warriors, hiking, reading, fantasy football, and eating all kinds of food. The Petty’s prefer small towns, nature, and parks to the big city. At the end of the day the two can be found watching a TV show and discussing the ongoing storyline.

Dwayne and Jennifer are excited to be a part of the New Heart community! Their desire is to love Christ, love others, and live life on purpose.
