New Heart Stewardship Campaign
The spring we celebrated New Heart’s 10th year in this community, we had been meeting in rented space and continue to do so as we build. To expand our influence in our community, we believed it was and still is necessary to have a facility of our own in McKinleyville.
A church facility of our own will:
- Provide much needed space from which to do ministry. Right now we have space from which we operate about 4.5 hours per week.
- Allow us to have space designed for our purposes and needs to increase our ability to reach people in our community (such as space designed for children, youth, young adults, families, and the growing population of retirees).
- Provide a greater sense of visibility and permanence to our community.
- Allow us to better serve and be a greater blessing to our community.
- Ultimately, expand our ability to reach and connect people in a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.
We sensed God’s leading to begin praying for a home for New Heart. In March of that year we voted as a church to purchase property at the NW corner of Hwy 101 and Murray Rd. This property needs rezoning for a church. Our rezoning request is before the Humboldt County Planning Department. The purchase of the parcel is complete. We are waiting for the rezoning to be completed.
